Before I started using essential oils in my day to day mommy routines I had zero clue as to what they were, let alone where they had come from. It was enough for me to hear they were highly concentrated plant plasma (or essence) to start looking into them. The truth is I had been through two very challenging post-partum seasons with my first kids and was faced with the choice to get some help with OTC (over the counter) meds, except there were many negative effects I really didn’t feel comfortable with. I already felt anxious, exhausted and panicky about the season ahead in my third pregnancy and I wasn’t willing to make matters worse with side effects. The only thing I really knew was that some herbs could have soothing, calming effects, I wanted some of that.
After getting my first oil, Lavender, I started learning about the history of essential oils and I discovered that they were not new fads, essential oils have been around the block for some time. Dive into today’s class for a quick trip down memory lane, and see if you can spot the 5 different civilizations that used, loved and highly valued essential oils like it was gold.
