Recommended Reading For A More Creative 2017
For a more creative season this book, Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert is just excellent. It’s such a huge encouragement to go out and create.
Get the audiobook on Audible, it is just such an amazing gift to have Elizabeth Gilbert herself having conversations with you daily.
I especially enjoyed one of those conversations she has throug the book to encourage creative minds to stop waiting around to be authorized to author or birth ideas and going into debt for it. She makes a call to go out and own your creative ideas and make them come to life.
Young, Creative and Caught In Debt
Elizabeth touches on the trend of young creative minds going into debt to have permission to call themselves creatives attending art school or language bachelors, meanwhile their choice to do so leads them on a path of creative death, in the abattoir of creative dreams: debt. No truer words have been said, I especially identify with this, having personally gone through it, racking up student loan debt, and in the process suffocating my creative muscles.
Happily, there is a way out of debt, guaranteed. And while you are alive and cogniznant YOU are still in time yo clean up tgat mess and nourish your creative soul back to life.
I was here, tired and quite done trading my talents and creativity for money to basically eat and pay off student loan debt. Depressed and incresingly deflated, at one point I started to question my calling to create and dream. I started to consider myseld a fraud, a sell out and that my window of creative genius was closed for good.
Yet still, I found a way out. A way to add to my income on a part-time basis in an environment where I have grown even more into my creative identity, I am creating for my own amusement, for others to enjoy and for my business.
This industry has been such a blessing and enabled me to tap back into my creative fountain and grow as a person in all aspects. I no longer live trapped by the debilitating weight of my outstanding student loan balance, my outlook is refreshed, my creative dreams have experienced a resurrection and I feel ready for anything.
